Atera pricing
Atera pricing in 2026: the matrix, the meters, and the crossover maths
Atera publishes its prices, which makes it the easy one to check. The interesting questions are the ones the rate card does not answer: what the autonomous Robin agent costs, how many billing meters are really on the invoice, and at what fleet shape per-technician pricing stops being the bargain it looks like.
Written with respect. We ran an MSP on several of the products we compare, we rate them, and without them Helios would not exist. These pages are here because buyers deserve the numbers, not because we want a fight.
The short answer
- Post-June-2026 MSP rate card: Pro $129, Growth $159, Power $209 per technician per month billed annually ($139/$189/$249 monthly); Superpower is quote-only (Reported across four independent sources, checked 22 August 2026).
- IT-department plans: Professional $149, Expert $189, Master $219 annually ($169/$229/$269 monthly); Enterprise by quote.
- The AI Copilot became free on every plan in the June 2026 repricing; it previously sold at $29 to $95 per technician per month.
- Robin, the autonomous AI agent, has no published price: it is billed per end user per month, annual contract only, with quarterly true-ups, and is excluded from the trial.
- Endpoints are unlimited per technician seat, but security, backup and network add-ons bill per device or per GB, so the invoice still scales with fleet size.
- Crossover maths: at $3/device competitor pricing, Atera Growth wins above 53 devices per technician; even at $1/device it wins above 159 devices per technician.
The 2026 rate card
Atera repriced in June 2026: monthly and new business moved on 1 June, annual plans on 28 July, and legacy annual customers renewing before that date kept their old price into 2027. One customer reports a monthly bill moving from $149.99 to $189.99 in that transition.
| MSP plan | Annual (per tech/month) | Monthly | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pro | $129 (~£95) | $139 | Reported |
| Growth | $159 (~£117) | $189 | Reported |
| Power | $209 (~£153) | $249 | Reported |
| Superpower | Quote only | Quote only | Not published |
| IT department plan | Annual (per tech/month) | Monthly | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Professional | $149 (~£109) | $169 | Reported |
| Expert | $189 (~£139) | $229 | Reported |
| Master | $219 (~£161) | $269 | Reported |
| Enterprise | Quote only | Quote only | Not published |
Tier differences that matter: Pro is Windows-only with two concurrent Splashtop sessions; Growth adds Mac and Linux, unlimited Splashtop and AnyDesk; Power adds custom reports and compliance tooling; Superpower bundles SSO and network discovery.
The AI: Copilot is now free, Robin is not (and has no price)
| Item | Figure | Status |
|---|---|---|
| AI Copilot | Included on every plan since June 2026; previously $29 to $95/tech/montheesel, 18 Aug 2026 | Reported |
| Robin (autonomous agent): price | Not published anywhere | Not published |
| Robin: billing shape | Per end user per month, annual contract only, quarterly true-up against peak daily active users; excluded from the trialeesel, citing Atera support docs | Reported |
| Robin: the one number in the wild | A single Reddit report of $20 per user per month, unverified; we do not treat it as a price | Reported |
The three meters on an "unlimited devices" invoice
Per-technician with unlimited endpoints is the headline, but the invoice has three meters: per technician (the seats), per end user (Work From Home at $5/user, Robin), and per device (the add-ons below). Fleet growth still moves the bill.
| Add-on | Reported price | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Antivirus (Bitdefender or Webroot) | $1.20/endpoint/montheesel | Reported |
| Antivirus (ESET or ThreatDown) | $1.25/device/montheesel | Reported |
| Domotz network monitoring | $1.50/device/montheesel | Reported |
| Acronis backup storage | $0.07/GBeesel | Reported |
| Network Discovery | $29/tech/month, bundled at SuperpowerCostbench | Reported |
| Work From Home | $5/end user/montheesel | Reported |
The crossover: when per-technician beats per-device
Divide the per-technician price by a per-device rate and you get the fleet size per technician where the two models cost the same. Using Growth at $159 annual:
- Against $3/device (small-fleet per-device territory): $159 ÷ $3 = 53 devices per technician. Above that, Atera is cheaper.
- Against $1/device (large-fleet or budget per-device pricing): $159 ÷ $1 = 159 devices per technician.
A typical MSP technician manages 150 to 400 endpoints, so per-technician pricing usually wins on the base subscription. The catch is the per-device add-ons above: antivirus at $1.20 to $1.25 per endpoint scales with the fleet on both models, which erodes the headline advantage as fleets grow.
Terms worth diarising
- 30-day trial, no card, at the Expert or Professional tier; Robin, SSO and custom assets are excluded from it.
- Annual plans auto-renew. Cancelling or reducing seats requires at least 60 days' notice before renewal, and there are no mid-term refunds.
- No minimum seats: single-technician accounts are supported.
What we could not verify
- Any number directly from atera.com itself (automated checks are blocked). The matrix is four independent trackers agreeing, which is strong but not the same thing.
- Robin's actual dollar price, anywhere.
- Superpower and Enterprise price levels. One tracker estimates "north of $300 per technician"; we treat that as a guess and leave it out.
- Whether the now-free Copilot carries any fair-use cap. None is reported.
Where Helios fits
Helios publishes every price: a £4/device Launch tier for 5 to 25 devices, then flat per-MSP plans at £99, £199 and £399 a month by fleet size (50 / 250 / unlimited). Every feature on every plan, monthly billing, cancel any time, and the calculator on the pricing page does the comparison for your exact fleet. We built this page because we think published pricing should be the norm in this market, ours included.
Common questions
How much does Atera cost per technician in 2026?
MSP plans run $129 (Pro), $159 (Growth) and $209 (Power) per technician per month billed annually, or $139, $189 and $249 monthly, with Superpower quote-only (multi-source, checked 22 August 2026).
Are Atera's IT-department plans priced differently?
Yes: Professional is $149, Expert $189 and Master $219 per technician per month annually ($169, $229 and $269 monthly), with Enterprise by quote.
Is Atera's AI Copilot an extra cost?
No. Since Atera's June 2026 repricing the Copilot is included free on every plan; it previously sold as a $29 to $95 per technician per month add-on.
What does Robin, Atera's autonomous AI agent, cost?
Atera publishes no price for Robin: it is a paid add-on billed per end user per month on an annual-only contract with quarterly true-ups, and it is excluded from the free trial.
Are Atera's endpoints really unlimited?
Technician seats cover unlimited endpoints, but antivirus, backup and network add-ons bill per device or per GB ($1.20 to $1.50 per device, $0.07 per GB), so total cost still scales with fleet size.
