NinjaOne alternatives in 2026

By the Helios team · Last checked July 2026

NinjaOne is one of the best RMMs ever built, and the usual reasons people look elsewhere are the quote-based pricing, the annual terms, or wanting the service desk in the same product. Here are seven credible alternatives, each with the honest trade-off, and a straight answer on when staying put is right.

Written with respect. We ran an MSP on several of the products we compare, we rate them, and without them Helios would not exist. These pages are here because buyers deserve the numbers, not because we want a fight.

The short answer

  • The usual reasons to look beyond NinjaOne: quote-based per-endpoint pricing, annual contracts with reported renewal uplifts, and needing a PSA alongside the RMM.
  • Best for per-technician pricing: Atera ($129 to $209 per tech per month, unlimited endpoints, Copilot included since June 2026).
  • Best for transparent per-device pricing: Level ($2 per device flat, free under 10 endpoints, no contract).
  • Best for unified PSA plus RMM today: SuperOps ($79 to $159 per tech per month by module).
  • Best for built-in billing and payments: Syncro ($129 to $209 per user per month).
  • Helios is on this list too, honestly placed: flat per-MSP pricing with an AI that works the queue; it is the youngest product here.

First, whether to move at all

An RMM migration costs weeks of agent redeployment, script porting and muscle memory. If NinjaOne is working and the renewal is fair, staying is a perfectly good decision, and its patching and support remain the reference standard. This page is for the three situations where a move genuinely pays: the quote or renewal no longer fits, you want pricing you can publish to your own clients, or you want the service desk unified with the RMM instead of bolted beside it.

The seven, by what you are optimising for

Atera: per-technician pricing, AI included

The opposite meter to NinjaOne: $129 to $209 per technician per month with unlimited endpoints, no minimums, and the AI Copilot bundled on every plan since June 2026. Big fleets per technician make it the value pick; per-device add-ons (antivirus, backup) still meter with fleet size. See our Atera pricing research and NinjaOne vs Atera head-to-head.

Level: transparent per-device, automation-first

$2 per device per month, everything included, free under 10 endpoints, no contract. Superb scripting and remote tools, and pricing published the way we think the whole category should. The trade-off: it is not a PSA, so ticketing and a client portal mean a second product. Our full Level comparison.

SuperOps: PSA and RMM genuinely unified

$79 to $159 per technician per month by module mix, with quoting, projects and service desk built as one product rather than integrated after the fact. Its Monica AI is a capable assistant. The RMM is younger than NinjaOne's and it shows in places. Our full SuperOps comparison.

Syncro: billing and payments built in

$129 (Core) or $209 (Team) per user per month with unlimited endpoints, and the best built-in invoicing-with-payments in this list. Parts of the interface show their age, and its automation is script-and-rule based. Our full Syncro comparison.

Datto RMM: enterprise scale under Kaseya

Reported from around $2.99 per endpoint per month with minimum commitments and multi-year auto-renewing terms. Mature patching and genuine scale; the contract structure is the thing to read twice, because committed endpoints stay billed if a client leaves. Our full Datto RMM comparison.

ConnectWise: the full business operating system

If what you actually want is quoting, projects, procurement and contract billing around the RMM, ConnectWise has the deepest of all of it, at the cost of quote-only pricing and serious implementation time. Our ConnectWise pricing research collects what is knowable before the sales call.

Helios: flat pricing, AI that works the queue

Ours, so read accordingly, and deliberately not first on this page. Flat per-MSP pricing (£99 to £399 by fleet band, plus a £4/device Launch tier from 5 devices), every feature on every plan, monthly, and an AI that investigates alerts on the machine, fixes under per-client guardrails, and answers client tickets. It is also the youngest product on this list, from the smallest company, and our NinjaOne comparison says plainly where NinjaOne remains ahead.

How to actually choose

Pick the meter that fits your shape (devices, technicians, or flat), shortlist two, and run both trials against the same five real tickets and the same patch Tuesday. Fourteen days of parallel running answers more than every comparison page on the internet, including this one.

Common questions

What is the best alternative to NinjaOne?

It depends on what you are optimising for: Atera for per-technician pricing with AI included, Level for transparent $2-per-device pricing, SuperOps for a unified PSA plus RMM, Syncro for built-in billing, and Helios for flat per-MSP pricing with an autonomous AI service desk.

Why do MSPs switch away from NinjaOne?

The commonly reported reasons are quote-based per-endpoint pricing, annual contracts with renewal increases reported by reviewers, and wanting ticketing and a client portal in the same product rather than added beside the RMM.

Is there a free alternative to NinjaOne?

Level is free under 10 endpoints and $2 per device per month beyond that; fully open-source stacks exist but trade licence cost for significant self-hosting effort.

Is switching RMM worth it?

Only when something structural no longer fits, such as pricing model, contract terms or product scope: a migration costs weeks of agent redeployment and script porting, so a fair renewal on a working platform is usually worth keeping.

How should I evaluate NinjaOne alternatives?

Shortlist two that match your pricing shape, run both trials in parallel against the same real tickets and the same patch cycle for fourteen days, and decide on what the trials did rather than what any comparison page says.
